Basically this is The Grudge with Catholic schoolgirls. In Tokyo, a young woman (Tamblyn) is exposed to the same curse that afflicted her sister (Gellar) in the first film. Kayako, the ghost from the first film, is still holding her grudge. She really doesn't want anyone coming to her house. When three schoolgirls do that, she follows one of them all the way to Chicago.

Amber Tamblyn (Aubrey) was Janice for 1 episode of BTVS (All the Way).

Jennifer Beals, Amber Tamblyn, Sarah Michelle Gellar Gellar is not in this much. But on the bright side, there are Amber Tamblyn, Ariel Kebbel, and Jennifer Beals. Though Gellar is the reason I watched it, those three make the experience worthwhile (at least as much so as a Japanese horror sequel can be made worthwhile). I wonder if someday a film might be made about the ghosts of all the whales and dolphins killed by the Japanese rising up to seek their revenge. Now that would be a great movie.

Misako Uno (Miyuki) is a member of the pop group ATTACK ALL AROUND. Other members of the group are: Takahiro Nishijima, Naoya Urata, Mitsuhiro Hidaka, Shinjiro Atae, Shuta Sueyoshi, and Chiaki Ito.

The film played in 3,214 theatres in the US before being released on DVD. It grossed $39,143,839.
