SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR in "Crossroads" (1986)

Should have been called Mystic Jazz. With Ralph Macchio, Joe Seneca, Jami Gertz. A music student in New York breaks his jazz hero out of jail and heads for Mississippi. Some great guitar work by Steve Vai and Ry Cooder. Harry Carey Jr. (bartender) was Mutino in CROSSBOW. Tim Russ (Robert Johnson) was Tuvok in STAR TREK VOYAGER.

The clipping below is apparently from a promotion of the Globe Theater production of Jake's Women in San Diego in 1990. The image is a screenshot of the clipping shown during Jules Asner's interview of Gellar in 2002. The appropriate segment of that long interview is at right. In the clipping, Gellar's film appearances to date are listed, the latest being "Crossroads".

This must refer to the 1986 film with Ralph Macchio and Jami Gertz.

To the left are some screenshots from that film, appropriately labeled. I see three possibilities. First, Gellar's scene(s) may have been cut from the final version of the film. Second (and most likely) Gellar may have been the Girl In Bus Station, who is sort of too conspicuous for an ordinary extra. Third, Gellar may have been the Student In Blue Dress at the music recital (too blurry to confirm).
